We Need Nutrition Advice We Can Trust--Donate for a Healthier America

Dear Friends—

As we close out 2019 and plan for the year ahead, I’m asking you to join us and make a year-end donation to The Nutrition Coalition. Funding from our supporters makes up a critical portion of our revenue, and I’d love to be able to count on your support as we head into next year.

Many of us have recovered our health, lost weight, and reversed diseases by following a diet that looks nothing like the advice dispensed to us by our doctors, nutritionists, etc.—advice that comes directly from our government’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA). This policy has since 1980 held a near vise-like hold on nutrition recommendations everywhere, from school lunches that allow donuts and non-fat milk as “healthy” foods, to the margarine and cereal served to cardiac patients in hospitals.

The Nutrition Coalition is the only group in the world working towards ensuring that national nutrition guidelines are based on sound science—i.e., rigorous, clinical trial evidence. This year, we have been unparalleled in providing transparency to the DGA process, from reporting on conflicts of interest among members of the expert committee to highlighting the government's failure to stand by its promise to use a state-of-the-art process for reviewing the science.

The Nutrition Coalition was founded four years ago to fill a void: the need for someone to fight for nutrition policy that will be based on science and can make Americans healthy again. The kind of work we do is difficult and expensive, but I know you agree that the need for good nutritional advice is critical to our national health.

Your year-end donation will help us ensure that we can continue this critical work into 2020. From ensuring rigorous science in the Dietary Guidelines to fighting against the policy's "one-size-fits-all" diet--which ignores the nutritional needs of children, the elderly, and most importantly, the majority of Americans struggling with obesity and diabetes--The Nutrition Coalition is the leader in trying to roll back the mistakes of the past while ensuring that future official nutritional advice will serve all Americans.

Make your gift of any amount today and join the tens of thousands of people across the country, standing up for truth in nutrition, based on sound science.

Thanks so much,
Nina Teicholz
